Most of the work is about helping organizations clarify what they want to say and how to say it. In approaching this work, Heard is collaborative and intentional. Time is spent listening and asking questions before moving into strategy, writing, or design, with continued engagement throughout the process. This ensures clients feel heard and the final deliverable is shaped by their context and goals rather than a generic template. The end result is communication that’s practical, effective, and brand-appropriate.

For nearly two decades, I’ve had the opportunity to tackle communication and graphic design challenges alongside a wide range of people and organizations. Based in Calgary, I work with organizations across Canada.

Before shifting my focus to project-driven work and launching Heard Communications in 2016, I worked as a graphic designer at a provincial museum, then at a municipal government, and later coordinated communications for an inner‑city church.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me with my family, playing games or enjoying the mountains. I also have a wood shop where I enjoy building small furniture with hand tools and traditional joinery.
